The Management Committee is delighted to announce it has extracted several elements from its Strategic Development Plan (SDP) to undertake an Infrastructure Proposal at the Newlands Arm Community Centre.

Following consultation and feedback from the community the project proposal involves:

1. Construction of a full-size asphalt Netball/Basketball Court, that can also be used for a range of other sporting activities.

2. Construction of flat and secure asphalt surface for parking for two to three vehicles and pedestrian access directly adjacent the main entrance ramp to the Community Centre.  This will assist persons using wheelchairs and walking frames to access and egress the building safely.

3. Provide an asphalt vehicular crossover and section of sealed driveway, adjacent the proposed new court.

The SDP provides for further upgrades if required, in the future, like acrylic surfacing of the court. The total value of the proposal is $61,000.  The proposal is contingent on a $50,000 Community Infrastructure Grant from East Gippsland Shire Council, $10,000 cash contribution by NARRA and the remaining costs being covered by work in kind by NARRA.  All grant applications require a minimum 1:5 contribution.
