MONSTER GARAGE SALE

We are excited to announce that NARRA will be hosting the 13th Monster Garage Sale on Sunday, 18th October 2026, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. This community-wide event will take place at the Newlands Arm Community Centre and will feature individual garage sale participants alongside outdoor stall and car boot sale holders—all on the same day.

Participation Fees (GST Inclusive):

  • Garage Sale Participants:
    Members – $15.00 | Non-Members – $22.00
  • Outdoor Stalls or Car Boot Sale @ Newlands Arm Community Centre:
    Members – $7.00 | Non-Members – $11.00

What’s Included for Participants:

  • All registered sellers will have their property location featured in the official NARRA List of Sellers and Map of Newlands Arm, which will also include an inventory of items available for purchase.
  • Garage Sale participants will receive a sign to display on the day, identifying them as part of the Monster Garage Sale.
  • Stall and Car Boot Sale holders will have their name or business name listed in the NARRA List of Sellers.

For Visitors:
On the day, from 7:45 AM, the List of Sellers and location map (including item inventories) will be available for purchase at the Newlands Arm Community Centre for just $2.
The NARRA team will also be running a BBQ, and a Coffee Truck will be on site to keep everyone refreshed.

How to Register:
If you would like to be part of this monster event, please submit your completed Registration Found HERE and payment by 3rd October at 5:00 PM.

You can register in person on Saturday, 3rd October 2026 (12–2 PM) at the Community Hall, or complete the online form and email it to secretary@narra.org.au.

Annual General Meeting – Save the Date

Notice is given that the NARRA Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held on Wednesday 9th September at 7:30pm at the Hall, 25 Meridian Way, Newlands Arm 3875.

In accordance with our rules, the AGM must be held within five months of the end of the financial year. This year, the meeting has been scheduled for September to allow the committee greater flexibility in managing NARRA’s affairs and finances.

Committee Nominations

Members wishing to nominate for the Committee of Management are asked to complete a Nomination Form, which requires the signature of a nominator and a seconder.

Should more than one nomination be received for any of the executive positions—President, Vice-President, Secretary, or Treasurer—a ballot will be conducted at the AGM.

The General Committee comprises a maximum of eight (8) members. A ballot for General Committee positions will only be held if more than eight nominations are received by the closing date.

All members will be advised of the nominations received and advised whether a ballot will be required, in accordance with Rule 51(3).

We encourage all members to consider nominating and to attend the AGM to have their say in the future direction of NARRA.

Celebrating Landcare Week with Newlands Arm Landcare Coastcare

This week marks Landcare Week across the country, and here in Newlands Arm, we have plenty to celebrate.

To mark the occasion, Newlands Arm Landcare Coastcare is hosting a FREE Sausage Sizzle at the Community Centre, Simpson Park, on Saturday 8th August, kicking off at 11:30am. It’s a wonderful opportunity for the whole family—bring the kids along to throw a hoop, kick a ball, or simply enjoy the open space and run around.

Beyond the great food and company, this is a chance to see firsthand the incredible work our Landcare group has accomplished at the “Hall” and its surrounds. You’ll also have the opportunity to learn about our new FireWise Gardens—a practical and important initiative for our community.

Members and locals alike are looking forward to chatting with you about the ongoing Landcare work across our area, from the “track” to the natural bushland we all cherish. Whether it’s planting native species, tackling weeds, or caring for our local environment, their efforts make a real difference.

On behalf of NARRA, I want to express our sincere appreciation for the dedication and passion of Newlands Arm Landcare Coastcare. Their work is a big part of why we are so proud to call this place home.

Christmas in July celebration

What a wonderful way to celebrate Christmas in July! 🎄 A huge thank you to everyone who came and made it such a fun evening. This event was proudly organized by NARRA, and we are so grateful to Sharon Mountain for managing everything so beautifully, with fantastic support from Graham Mountain. Extra special thanks to Leonie Holl, Janine Honing, and Ian Williams for going above and beyond to make the night truly great. We couldn’t have done it without you! (Richard Gill, president of NARRA)
